Therapeutic Mentoring
It takes a village to raise a child, and at Massachusetts MENTOR, we create a community of support for children facing a range of challenges. Through our Therapeutic Skill Development Services (also referred to as Therapeutic Mentoring), we help kids develop the skills they need to reach their full potential.
These services are designed to help young people with severe emotional and behavioral challenges thrive at home, in school, and in the community. Our expert team works with each child, their family, and our community partners. Together, we help the children we serve set and achieve personalized treatment goals, focusing on:
- Communication skills
- Anger/behavior management
- Coping skills
- Socialization skills
- Community-based goals (applying for a job, participating in extracurricular activities, etc.)
We work one-on-one with each child, using engaging activities and personalized supports to help them reach their goals. By providing individualized, therapeutic services, we help kids understand the challenges they face and teach them how to move forward.
